Turkey Lake Monitoring Portal

Remote Sensing & Open Science Platform
Purpose of the Project

This portal was developed to monitor the long-term (1984–2024) surface area changes of Turkey’s major lakes using satellite-based remote sensing and Google Earth Engine. It enables efficient analysis of large-scale geospatial data to detect temporal variations in water bodies.

The platform provides an interactive environment to explore lake dynamics and their relationship with climate variables such as precipitation, temperature, and evaporation, supporting both scientific research and education.

  • Spatio-temporal visualization of lake changes
  • Climate and water area correlation analysis
  • Satellite-based environmental monitoring
  • Open and FAIR-compliant data access
